Nearly five minutes after Punjabi and Bollywood singer Guru Randhawa shared his picture along with American rapper Pitbull on social media, announcing his first international collaboration, his fans and friends from the entertainment industry broke the Internet with congratulatory messages.

Guru Randhawa, known for songs like Suit Suit Karda, High-rated Gabru will be seen with Pitbull in his next single Slowly Slowly, which releases in January. The artiste just returned after the shoot in Miami. The track is written and composed by Guru while video director Gifty has directed the video.

“Well, what can I say, it is indeed a great experience and a nice feeling,” shares Guru, overwhelmed with the response that he is already getting. The collaboration was possible because of T-Series and Guru is all thanks to Bhushan Kumar and the team.

Climbing the ladder, with one hit after the other, Guru doesn’t let expectations obstruct his creativity. “People have already high hopes from me, after the Suit song they raised the bar even higher, but I am only focused on my work and giving my best,” adds Guru, who makes eyes turn for being the youngest Punjabi artiste to be working with an internationally known rapper.

Pitbull, well, he isn’t rapping in Punjabi or is he? Laughs Guru, “He has done what he is good at, rapping and I have done what I am good at.”

On working together, sharing screen space as well as music space, Guru says it can’t get better than this. And what makes it better is the fact that Pitbull had heard about him and his music! “Why else do you think he would agree to do a track with me? Pitbull’s contribution to the song has definitely added yet another international touch.”

The rapper was all praise for the young artiste, Guru, “There is so much that he told me about how he liked my music, videos and everything,” Guru, holding on to the modesty meter, says, “Well, Pitbull says ‘Great job’.”

The international collaboration, Slowly Slowly, is being released by T Series. Guru’s next track Tere Te releases November 27, “We will celebrate Bhushan Kumar’s birthday and the song together,” adds the singer who has already lined up his international collaborations with other international artistes. “You will soon come to know about it,” he adds.

All in a day

The video is directed by director Gifty who comes from Jalandhar and is currently based out in Mumbai. Gifty has worked with many popular artistes, including Guru. As for the video with Guru and Pitbull, the challenge was to not repeat what he had done before, “So, we shot in Miami, we hired a big mansion since the feel of song is house party and tried to capture both Pitbull and Guru in their parts,” adds Gifty who shot the song in one day, “as both Pitbull and Guru Randhawa had prior commitments and shows.”
