Two years wiser from when she was last seen on television, Tamanna Dipak recalls her stint on the show India’s Best Dramebaaz with such fond remembrance that it’s almost impossible to hear her over the giggling.

“I’m a big girl now, you see, and I have learnt a lot from the show. It’s given me a lifelong goal to better myself with each passing day,” says the seven-year-old about her three-month tryst with the talent-hunt reality show.

In Chandigarh to encourage children for exhibiting their acting talent at the auditions of India’s Best Dramebaaz Season 3, which will be held on May 4 at Hallmark Public School, Tamanna talks about the show and her experiences.

Starlit dreams

A 2015 runner–up of the show’s second season, Tamanna hopes to make it big in the glamour world. Hailing from Assam, Tamanna presently co-hosts DID Li’l Masters along with actor Jay Bhanushali. “He’s really nice, but my favourite is actor Varun Dhawan. I love him because he is extremely well-mannered and kind,” she says. Narrating the incident when she first met Varun, Tamanna shares, “I requested him for one selfie and he responded: ‘Aap ithne pyaare ho, aap ke saath one nahi, thousand pictures khichwaingey hum’.”

Tamanna has rubbed shoulders with several actors and her list includes Akshay Kumar, Kapil Sharma, Tiger Shroff, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Manish Paul, Rani Mukherjee, Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma.

Losers cry, winners try

Tamanna exudes childlike enthusiasm when she talks of stars and celebrities until her innocuousness leads her to honesty. Bagging second position at the show was not as humiliating for her as Sajid Khan’s words. “I love all judges (Sonali Bandre and Vivek Oberoi) on the show, but I don’t like Sajid Khan. He asked me to talk to him once I learn to speak English properly. Such things hurt a child’s confidence, but I see the silver lining here too. Now, I am learning English and I will speak well someday,” she says, affirmatively.

“India’s Best Dramebaaz has taught me the real meaning of acting and helped me understand the finer nuances of appearing effortless and natural while performing. Also, I learnt Hindi while watching Chhota Bheem,” she doles out notes from all that she learnt about acting on the show.

Eyes on the goal

Tamanna’s dreams inspired her family to shift to Mumbai, where they have now been living for two years. “My elder daughter, Annanya, who is now in twelfth standard, had registered Tamanna’s name on the show in 2015 and after seeing how much she loves the stage, we decided to move to Mumbai. Here, she can hone her acting skills and could become an actor, or whatever she wants to become, someday,” her mother says. Tamanna nods in agreement, “I want to become glamorous, stunning, and the most beautiful girl when I grow up,” she says.

In the coming days, Zee TV’s talent scouts will conduct auditions in various cities, including Pune, Jammu, Indore, Guwahati, Varanasi, Ranchi, Lucknow, Patna, Bhopal, Kolkata, Jaipur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. So, if acting is your child’s passion, then join in for the auditions of India’s Next Dramebaaz – Season 3! Show’s auditions to take place in Chandigarh’s on Friday at Hallmark Public School.
