How is your experience with Indian Idol?

Honestly, working with Vishal Dadlani, Anu Malik and Neha Kakkar is great experience. The show will help me to establish my identity as a perfect host.

Have you been following the show in the past?

I have been watching this show since I was in school. I followed the third season the most as my father, Udit Narayan, was the judge.

How have been the auditions so far?  

The talent this season is phenomenal. Our country has talent in abundance. I believe even if we have a singing reality show every month then also we won’t be able to showcase all the talent in our country. 

What is new for the viewers this season?

Indian Idol has always been a show which has given our industry some of the most outstanding singers, so this time also we are expecting to hear some amazing singers. 

Have you done any special preparations? 

I am watching the last season closely as I do not want to repeat anything which was done earlier. I will be adding a lot of my own masala to make the hosting more entertaining.

How has been your singing journey?

My songs Kahin aag lage… from Taal movie and song Tattad Tattad from Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela were quite a hit. Working with AR Rahman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was a great experience. In fact, I had sung Tattad Tattad in just one take. I think both songs are biggest hits of my career.

What is your take on the current music scenario?

Melody is not there but some singers are trying to do their best. 

What does fitness mean to you?

For me, fitness is everything because it plays a really important role in everyone’s life. In today’s fast- paced life, it is very important to keep your mind, body and soul fit.
