The Moti Nagar police on Sunday arrested the father-in-law and husband of Sushma, 27, who committed suicide on Friday evening. Raids are on at the suspected hideouts of the remaining accused, who are still at large. Investigating officer, ASI Rachpal Singh said those arrested have been identified as deceased’s husband Ramesh Kumar and his father Raj Kumar. The other accused including deceased’s brother-in-law Suresh Kumar, sister-in-law Soni, mother-in-law Reshma and one Jeevan, residents of Shaheed Bhagat Singh colony, are yet to be arrested.
The ASI said the remaining accused would be nabbed soon. Deceased’s brother Arvinder said his sister got married to Ramesh seven years ago. They have two daughters, but her husband and in-laws wanted to have a son, due to which they used to trouble her. Recently, they thrashed her and due to all this, she was suffering from mental harassment. On Saturday, when she was alone at home, she committed suicide.
No suicide note was recovered from the spot. — TNS
