Ludhiana: A clay moulding competition was organised at Darshan Academy. Tiny-tots made alphabets and numbers using clay. Students of KG classes made animals. The primary classes made objects related to nature. They made trees and clouds. All participants showed their creativity.
Science quiz at BVM
A science quiz was organised at BVM Sector-39 to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and establish a relationship between theory and application of the learnt concepts. There were three teams from classes XI to XII in which the topics were pollution, sanitation and Swachh Bharat Mission, science and environment. Students of these classes participated enthusiastically and gained lot of knowledge. The main object of this quiz was to promote the feeling of fun way to study and to improve general knowledge, skills, abilities, self-confidence, leadership and team spirit among the students.
Annual day at Guru Nanak school
The primary wing of Guru Nanak Public School celebrated the annual prize distribution and cultural programme amidst great zeal and elation. The headmistress, Harjit Kaur Dua, introduced the illustrious chief guest and welcomed all the eminent guests. The programme commenced with the invocation of 'shabad'. There after the annual report was presented this highlighted the success story and achievements of students in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The cultural extravaganza commenced with the spectacular prayer dance Gobind Bolo which depicted Lord Krishna's life episodes. In mime, students stressed on the clean India mission and the English play 'Beauty in Beast' conveyed the message that the real beauty lies in the heart and not in external appearance.
Ekta Diwas celebrated
Famously ‘Iron Man’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 140th Birth Anniversary was observed as Ekta Diwas at BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, with great zeal and patriotic fervor. Sheetal Sharma administered the pledge to create public awareness in making corruption-free India. Principal Bandana Sethi motivated the students to be more vigilant about their duties. She guided the students to be self-disciplined and adhere to the path of honesty and transparency.
Students shine in sports
Students of Garden Valley International School, Machhiwara, brought laurels in declamation, kho- kho, maths quiz competition organised by Sahodaya East Zone, Khanna. In declamation contest, Jobanpreet Kaur won second prize and Dishneet Kaur bagged third prize. In kho-kho, students won gold medals in under-19 girls and under-14 boys. In under-19 and under-17 boys won silver medals. In under-14, girls won bronze medal. Deepali, Manish, Davinder Pandey, Amit Kumar secured second position in maths quiz competition. — TNS
