An inter-house GK quiz was organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Mullanpur. Two teams from each house participated in the competition. Each team consisted of three students. There were four rounds - MCQ, audio-visual, buzzer round and timer round. The students participated enthusiastically in the competition.

Class presentation

Class presentation on social media was held at Jesus' Sacred Heart School. Students geared up to exhibit their talent in oratory skills on social media. Students made parents aware about various social sites like Facebook, twitter, instagram etc. and the pros and cons attached to it. The students also highlighted the dark side of social media by telling that it has turned new generation lazy by killing their creativity, dampening their quest for knowledge and diverting their minds by giving them free and unlimited access to violence, pornography and also slowly killing the reading habits of the youth.

Vana Mahotsava celebrated 

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, commenced 'Vana Mahotsava Week'. Meaningful messages were put up all around on the importance of trees and how they are the 'lifelines'. The overall objective of celebrating the day is to sensitise masses and to generate awareness among the students. An inter-class best out of waste competition, drawing competition was held. A'Green Day' and 'Plantation Drive' was also organised to make students more empathetic towards nature and its importance. .

World Hepatitis Day observed

Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, Civil Lines, held a programme to observe 'World Hepatitis Day' under the guidance of the Health and Wellness Club of the school with an aim to highlight this year's theme 'No Hep - complete elimination of hepatitis cases by the year 2030'. Dr Vandana Midha, professor in Department of Medicine, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, was the speaker for the day. She apprised students of the causes, preventions and medical treatment available for the cure of different types of hepatitis. The students were also made aware about the vaccination to prevent hepatitis B.

Peace week celebrated

Hazur Week of Human Unity and Peace was celebrated with great zeal and zest at Darshan Academy. The special week focused on the importance of inner and outer peace through selfless service. Various activities were held throughout the week which helped the students to become a good human soul. The celebrations started with a special assembly and inauguration of 'Roti Bank'. It is a great initiative in which each Darshanite will bring an extra Roti on every Thursday and these will be distributed among the needy. Students of Class VII visited Government School where they distributed stationery among the students.

Sawan Utsav

Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School, Sherpur Road, Ludhiana, celebrated 'Sawan Utsav'. Students were dressed up in colourful attires and they embellished the occasion with their graceful performances. The students who participated in the 'Sawan Utsav' competition and the winners were given the titles of 'Sawan Prince' and 'Sawan Princess'. TNS
