Gill school girls, DAV boys emerge champions in basketball tourney

Ludhiana, May 5

Government Senior Secondary School, Gill village, in the girls’ section while DAV School, Ludhiana, in the boy’s category emerged champions in the 7th Sub-Junior Ludhiana District Baseball Tournament, which concluded at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, here today.

The final in the girls’ section turned out to be a one-sided affair in which Government School, Gill village, players proved too good for Government High School, Sherpur, as the former emerged winners hands down (10-1). Amanjot Kaur and Sandeep Pal Kaur contributed two runs each for the winning side.

However, in the boy’s section, the final between DAV School and BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, was a well contested one with the former had to fight it before coming out victorious 6-3. Vashu and Ramit scored two runs each to help DAV School lift the winners’ trophy.

Sukhdev Singh Aulakh, general secretary, Punjab Baseball Association, distributed prizes among the winners.

Others present on this occasion were Harbir Singh Gill, president of the Ludhiana District Baseball Association, Neeru, lecturer, Government School, Gill village, and Nirmaljit Kaur, SAI coach.
