Ludhiana: Manav Rachna International School celebrated International Literacy Day. The day started with a morning assembly in which the students were enlightened with the significance of the day. The students shared the importance and need of education. Under the ‘teaching learning exchange programme’, to promote the significance of literacy for education the students visited the government school in Daad village and spent time with kids and teachers discussing the problem faced by them and conducted value-based activities, making them aware of the importance of education.

Yellow Day Celebration

‘Yellow Day’ was celebrated at GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, with full enthusiasm. All students from Nursery to UKG were dressed in yellow attires. The day was celebrated with the yellow coloured food as well. Principal Charanpreet Kaur, appreciated the efforts of students and encouraged them to participate more in celebrations to know our rich culture and heritage.

Elocution Competition

An elocution competition for the students of classes I and II was held at Ryan International School, Dugri. The elocution topic for class I was ‘benefits of plants’ and the topic for class II was ‘Importance of outdoor games’. Class II students also expressed their views and ideas on the topic by using various sports items

Role play oragnised

A role play based on superstitions- Under the British Council Project-2 “Journey from blind beliefs to open mind “was showcased by the students of Amrit Indo Canadian Academy. The students from the middle section gave remarkable performance. They depicted the blind beliefs followed by the people in the society and through their performance gave a message to the audience that we should not have blind faith on any practice which is followed by the society.

Workshop at Drishti school

A workshop was conducted in Drishti Dr R C Jain Innovative Public School, Narangwal, on the topic of ‘legal awareness for the students’ of classes IX to XII. The workshop was conducted by Gurpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate- cum- Secretary, District Legal Service Authority. Principal Gauri Chhabra, while addressing the students, informed them the main idea behind this workshop was to make the students aware about the crimes and incidents happening around us, so that they become law abiding citizens.

Students win medals

Students of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School won three gold, silver and bronze medals, at the Punjab State Kanninjuku Karate Championship, organised at the Guru Nanak Stadium. Mohd Daanish (IX), Hardik Kumar (VI) and Yaatika (IV) won gold whereas Aarush (VI), Deepesh Rai (IX) and Komalpreet won over silver medals when Sakshi (X) and Maanya (VIII) won bronze medals. Ketan Chaudhary (XII Arts) brought laurels by winning the Junior Open Challenge Cup.

NSS camp at SDP school

The NSS Unit of SDP Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road, organised a one-day camp at Birmi vilage. The aim of the camp was to make aware people about cleanliness and to keep their city and country worth living. As many as 60 volunteers and three teachers participated in the camp. Principal Jasveer Singh Chauhan appreciated the efforts done by the teachers and the NSS volunteers.

Green Week at Orient school

Green Week was celebrated with the pre-primary wing of Orient International School And Sports Academy, Machhiwara, to inculcate a sense of responsibility among children towards nature. The celebration helped children explore nature and to recognise the different colours around them. The kindergarten students and teachers came to school dressed in green attire. The classrooms were beautifully decorated in green
