Kho-kho: PU lift winners’ trophy

KHANNA: The North Zone Inter University Kho-Kho (Boys) Championship was organised from November 5 to 8 at Desh Bhagat University.

The North Zone Inter University Kho-Kho (Boys) Championship was organised from November 5 to 8 at Desh Bhagat University.

As many as 30 universities of the North Zone participated in the championship, which was inaugurated by Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University Dr Zora Singh.

He said a healthy body consists of a healthy brain and with sports we can keep our health healthy.

The tournament continued to be a source of interest and fun for students and the staff members.

All teams participated in the tournament with great enthusiasm and discipline.

The final match was held between Punjab University, Chandigarh, and RML Avadh University, Faizabad, in which the team from Punjab University, Chandigarh, was the winner and RML University and Punjabi University, Patiala, came second and third, respectively.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Virender Singh encouraged the winning team during the prize distribution ceremony. He said winning in sports was not as important as participating. He encouraged all students to take part in games.

The winners

  • Total 30 universities of the North Zone participated in the championship, which was inaugurated by Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr Zora Singh. 
  • The final match was held between PU, Chandigarh, and RML Avadh University, Faizabad, in which the team from PU was the winner and RML University and Punjabi University, Patiala, came second and third, respectively
