To motivate the visitors to maintain cleanliness at the local railway station, the authorities concerned have come up with a new idea of installing motivational signboards to educate the visitors to maintain cleanliness at the railway station.

One of such signboards reads ‘Aapki Padhai Ka Koi Mahattav Nahi Reh Jata Agar Aapke Dubara Fenka Gaya Kachra Agli Subha Koi Anpadh Viyakti Uthata Hai’. “Your education is futile if the litter spread by you is being cleaned by some illiterate person next morning,” at the local railway station.

Ludhiana Railway Station is one of the busiest railway stations in the region. Many visitors including the educated ones throw garbage on the platforms. Maintaining cleanliness has always been a huge challenge for the railway authorities.

Though the railway authorities have installed many garbage bins on various platforms of the railway station, but still the visitors continue to litter in open thus causing a lot of dirtiness at the railway station.

Ludhiana Railway Station Director Abhinav Singla said these inspirational signboards have been installed to motivate the people to use garbage bins and not litter on platforms. “We do not want to embarrass anyone with such messages. Our motive behind installing such motivational signboards is only to inspire the visitors to maintain cleanliness at the railway station,” he said.
