Ludhiana, October 27
An international seminar on human rights was organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College. The main speaker on the occasion was Yasni Bowaneedin Putto, President, International Human Rights Organisation, Mauritius.
She was accompanied by Amandeep Mittal, Director, North Zone, IHRO; Gurkanwal Kaur, General Secretary, IHRO (women wing); and Baljeet Kaur, President, IHRO, Ludhiana (women wing).
Addressing the audience, Putto informed about various human rights such as Right to Education, Freedom of Speech, Right to Vote, Right to Think Individually, and convey the grievances when needed with various cells of human rights located within and outside India. Baljeet Kaur President, IHRO, Ludhiana (women wing), talked about transformation through human rights and asserted that a transition from being nice but non-active to that of good and active citizen was required for the well being of humanity. — TNS
