Man killed, son injured in road accident

A man was killed while his son sustained injuries when their motorcycle was allegedly hit by a canter near the Nagla-Singhpura intersection at Zirakpur.

The deceased has been identified as Lajja Rav, while the injured is Amar Nath, a resident of Dera Bassi.

The incident occurred when the father-son duo was heading back towards Dera Bassi from Chandigarh. When they reached near the Singhpura intersection, a canter, which was also headed in the same direction, allegedly hit their mobike. Lajja Rav died on the spot, while his son sustained injuries.

The police have registered a case against the canter driver, Davinder Singh, a resident of Ropar, at the Zirakpur police station.
