Four cops injured in attack by drug peddler’s family

Fatehabad, July 13

Family members of a drug trafficker attacked a police team that raided their house at Rajnagar in Tohana town of the district on Thursday night.

The family members clashed with the police team in a bid to free the accused, Joginder. Four cops were injured and uniform of one policeman was torn in the clash.

Later, Tohana DSP Joginder Sharma reached there with police force and arrested Joginder, his son Bittoo and another accused and recovered 5-kg ganja, 1.5-kg poppy husk and Rs 3,500 cash from their possession.

Injured policemen Suresh Kumar, Som Nath, Jaspal and Kuldeep were later admitted to General Hospital in Tohana.

Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan said that a case under the NDPS Act and for rioting, obstructing public servant from official duty, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy had been registered against Joginder, his wife Harpal Kaur, daughter Charanjit Kaur, son Bittoo and his wife Garima.
