New Delhi: The ceremonial lounge at the domestic terminal 1B of the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport here was destroyed after a fire broke out on Saturday afternoon, police and fire officials said. There were no casualties. According to the fire brigade, the blaze was first reported at the conference hall at 1.46 am. The fire then spread to the first floor of the lounge located near Gate Number 9 of the airport. Electric installations, furniture and the ceiling were gutted, an official of the BMC’s Disaster Control Room said.  Eight fire engines and six water tankers were rushed to control the blaze. Airport officials said operations were not affected. Fire brigade personnel suspect that a short-circuit led to the fire. TNS
