Jaipur, April 17
The Rajasthan Government has removed a woman counsel appointed in the Supreme Court after it emerged that she was the Advocate on Record (AOR) in a contempt plea filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi against Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his Rafale remarks.
The state Law Department has relieved Ruchi Kohli from her post with immediate effect without citing any reason, says an April 13 order issued by Principal Secretary Law Mahveer Prasad Sharma.
“Ruchi Kohli, Advocate on Record in the Supreme Court, New Delhi, is hereby relieved from duties with immediate effect and is directed to hand over all the case lists to Additional Advocate General Manish Singhvi. She should also send the lists’ copy to the Law Department within three days,” the order stated. — OC
