Amanjot Singh Dhiman of Yadavindra Public School is Mohali topper and third in the tricity with 97.4 per cent marks in Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Class X results.
Tarandeep Kaur (96.6 per cent) and Anshnoor Kaur (95.8 per cent) of the same school got second and third spots in Mohali, which has just two schools, affiliated with the ICSE. The other school in question is St Xavier’s High School in Sector 71. Amanjot, whose aim is to become a software engineer in computer science, said he wanted to study at the University of Waterloo in Canada.
“It’s my dream to study at the university in Canada,” said Amanjot Singh, whose father is a businessman.
“I got good marks and I am satisfied with my results. I studied for five to six hours daily. Apart from that, I am also fond of football,” said Amanjot Singh, who said like other youngsters, he was not much active on social media and other such distractions.
Elated over good results of his students, school director Maj Gen TPS Waraich said he was proud of the success of his wards. “We produced a good result. I wish good luck to all of my students,” said the director. — TNS
