Tom Latham (in pic) led New Zealand’s solid response with an unbeaten 111 against Sri Lanka’s first-innings total of 244 on the third day of the second and final Test. The touring side reached 196/4 in their first innings, trailing the hosts by 48 runs on a pitch offering sharp turn for the spinners. Brief Scores: Sri Lanka: 244 (D de Silva 109; T Southee 4/63, T Boult 3/75); New Zealand: 196/4 (T Latham 111*; D Perera 2/76).

Malinga to lead SL in NZ T20Is; Thisara, Mathews out
