MRSPTU launches ‘Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme’

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) launched Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme for the 2018-19 academic session to provide cheaper and quality technical education to meritorious and needy students.

Dr Jasbir Singh Hundal, registrar, MRSPTU, said, “All the meritorious students who are economically weak and aspiring for good quality education in MRSPTU main campus and its constituent colleges would be benefited from the scheme.”

He said under the scheme, the students would get the fee waiver as per the percentage of marks or ranks obtained in the JEE and NEET exams.

He said students securing first to 50,000 ranks in the JEE and first to 25,000 ranks in the NEET would be entitled to waiver of full tuition fee. Apart from this GATE/GPAT qualified candidates will also get scholarship as per rules.

Besides, students in the first six merit positions of any board examination and all university/board topper in qualifying examinations will get scholarship equivalent to full tuition fee.

Similarly, candidates having 80 per cent marks and above in the qualifying examination are entitled to scholarship equivalent to 50 per cent of tuition fee and in Punjab Institute of Technologies (PIT’s) candidates having 70 per cent marks and above in the qualifying examination are entitled to scholarship equivalent to half tuition fee.
