Tarn Taran, June 9
Power supply to 50 families of Toot village, 35 km from here, has been snapped for the last three weeks due to a snag. Villagers said they had requested officials of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd several times but to no avail.
Raghbir Singh, former sarpanch of the village, said power supply was snapped due to some defect in the cable of the 63-KV transformer in the village. The affected residents said they had approached the officials concerned many a time, but no action was taken. Deputy Chief Engineer Pardeep Saini said he was not aware of the problem of the residents of Toot village.
