CHANDIGARH: Prof RK Sinha of Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi, has been appointed as the Director, Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), here.

Prof RK Sinha of Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi, has been appointed as the Director, Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), here. An alumnus of the Indian Institutes of Technology, Kharagpur and Delhi, he has done extensive research and development work in the areas of fiber optics and optical communication.

An academic visitor of leading universities in the USA, the UK, Japan, Switzerland and Taiwan, Professor Sinha has supervised over 20 R&D projects and 14 doctoral thesis in the areas of optics and photonics and published over 200 research papers in leading national and international journals. He is a Fellow of the International Society of Optical Engineers and has also served as the Head of Department, Dean, Industrial Research and Development (IRD), and Dean (Academic) of the DTU.
