Some villagers said Charanpal Singh of Naiwala village was constructing a house in his fields, but his relatives opposed the construction of a portion of the wall. When labourers started constructing the wall on Sunday, Charanpal’s relatives stopped the labourers from working.

“Parampal Kaur, Charanpal’s wife, her daughter Deep Shiv Jot Kaur and few relatives reached the spot and asked the labourers to start the work. But their relatives opened fire in which Parampal and her daughter received injuries,” said Ram Singh, a labourer.

“Both have suffered bullet injuries in their chest. The family members have not recorded their statement as yet. We will register an FIR after recording their statement,” said SHO Rakesh Kumar.
