The Centre has appointed three members to the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust ahead of preparations for the proposed centenary commemoration of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The trust is headed by the Prime Minister. The centenary commemoration will kick off next year.
Former MP and Vice-Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities Tarlochan Singh, who has been appointed as one of the trustees, told The Tribune on Monday that former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and state BJP chief Shwait Malik have been appointed as the other trustees. — TNS
