Finally, SAD leaders show up in Phagwara, Mukerian

Post the recent turmoil within the SAD-BJP alliance owing to their break-up in Haryana and a coordination committee meeting thereafter on Saturday, the senior SAD leadership today showed up in support of the BJP candidates in Phagwara and Mukerian ahead of the October 21 Assembly bypoll.

Though there are still reports that the local workers are not moving along the BJP cadre on the two seats, Youth Akali Dal president Bikram Singh Majithia today held rallies for BJP Phagwara candidate Rajesh Bagha and Mukerian candidate Jangi Lal Mahajan.

Majithia and former MLA Sarabjeet Makkar appeared on the stage along with BJP state president Shwait Malik, incharge Parbhat Jha, Union Minister Som Parkash and former Union MoS Vijay Sampla. The leaders held their hands together and posed for photographs to spread across the message that the alliance partners were working together in Punjab.
