Phagwara, September 18
A young woman was brutally murdered with a sharp-edged weapon at her house in New Sukhchain Nagar in Phagwara on Wednesday morning.
The woman, Kuldip Kaur, has a 12-year-old son Sahildeep.
Station House Officer (Sadar) Phagwara Manmohan Singh said the deceased, after sending her son to school, was talking to her sister-in-law over the phone—who suddenly heard Kaur crying.
The sister-in-law rushed to Kaur’s house, and found her lying in a pool of blood.
Kaur was brought to Gandhi Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The deceased was living alone with her child as her husband resides in Dubai.
Singh said that the mobile phone of the deceased was found missing and there is a possibility that the killers might have taken it.
The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC, and have sent the dead body to a local civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
