Dehradun, December 10

The Students Federation of India (SFI) organised a seminar on higher education system due to government policies here today.

The participants expressed concern over the continuous hike in school fees in the educational institutions in the state. They said the government should take effective steps to improve infrastructure in government schools and colleges.

Lekhraj, SFI state vice-president, said the government should take effective steps to improve the education system in the state. He said the SFI members would boycott privatisation of education system in the country.

Akshat, Jawahar Lal Nehru University scholar, lamented that students living in the mountainous areas of the state were not being provided qualitative education. Abhishek Bhandari, Arjun Rawat, Pradeep Sakhlani and Laxmi Prasad were also present in the seminar.
