No ‘major’ change in H-1B visa process; India to discuss it with US

The Centre on Thursday said there had been no major change in the process of H-IB visa, rather their number had increased.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told the Rajya Sabha that the “danger” (of changes) continued and India had already taken up the issue with the US on relevant platforms.

The issue would be discussed further at the Two Plus Two meeting, she said.

The inaugural Two Plus Two dialogue between India and the US will be held in New Delhi on September 6.

Last month, the US had postponed the much-awaited dialogue due to “unavoidable reasons”.
