Controversial film ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is all set for release, but voices against its release are being raised.

Members of the United Sikh Party are opposing the release of the film. They said that any human portraying the role of Sikh gurus or members of their families is by no means acceptable to the Sikh Panth.

The release of the film, produced in 2015, was stopped earlier also. The release of the film was stopped after controversy and after some editing, it is all set to be release on April 13 again.

Speaking about it, Jarnail Singh, president, United Sikh Party, said, the Sikhs would not allow the film to be released. “Even though now the character of Guru Nanak might have been depicted indirectly, but any human playing characters of members of families of Sikh Gurus cannot be tolerated,” he said.

“We would also meet the district administration against the release of the film. We would not allow the film to be released at any cost,” Singh said.
