Sikhs welcomes int’l nagar kirtan

JAMMU: The Sikh Sangat of Jammu & Kashmir welcomed the international nagar kirtan at Jammu on Monday, which began from Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev.

Jammu, August 6

The Sikh Sangat of Jammu & Kashmir welcomed the international nagar kirtan at Jammu on Monday, which began from Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev.

On the occasion of 550th Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the international nagar kirtan proceeded from Lakhanpur to Jammu under the supervision of Mahanat Manjeet Singh, Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch, Sant Tejwant Singh and Sant Pura Dana.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar, various Sikh organisations of J&K, The Sikh United Front, J&K, Shiromani Akali Dal, Sikh Istri Akali Dal, Sikh Student Federation, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, Shiromani Youth Akali Dal, All District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees of Jammu Province, All Local Gurdwara Committee along with sangat participated the nagar kirtan.

People from all walks of life gathered alongside the road at various points and welcomed the nagar kirtan. The sangat was chanting the slogan with religious fervour such as “Nanak Nam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat Da Bhala” and “Kal Taran Guru Nanak Aya”.
