Woman’s bag containing cash stolen from car

CHANDIGARH: A bag containing cash, keys and important documents was stolen from a car in Sector 17 after an unidentified accused threw currency notes near the car and asked a woman to pick up the notes on December 22.

A bag containing cash, keys and important documents was stolen from a car in Sector 17 after an unidentified accused threw currency notes near the car and asked a woman to pick up the notes on December 22.

Complainant Davinder Kaur said that she was sitting in her car in the parking lot when a man approached her and claimed that Rs 10 currency notes were lying outside her car. “I thought that my driver might have dropped the money following which I stepped out of the car to take a look”, Kaur said.

Kaur further said she called her driver who was standing near the parking lot and asked him to pick up the money. “When I sat back in the car I found my bag missing”, she said.

The bag contained Rs 11,000 cash and other valuables. The matter was reported to the police and an investigation has started.
