It was raining around 9 am when the fire broke out. A total of 11 fire tenders, including eight of the Municipal Corporation, were pressed into service. Firefighters faced problems to refill water in tenders as the water source was away from the factory.

Additional Divisional Fire Officer Kashmir Singh said, “We doused the flames within an hour, but the chemical and clothes were burning till late evening. We have arranged water from the Khanna paper mill to control the fire.”
