Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu, celebrated 65th Annual Sports Day on the theme 'Saga of Sustainability'. Keval Kumar Sharma, former Adviser to Governor, J&K, presided over the function as the chief guest whereas Rt Rev Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar Diocese, was the guest of honour. Students displayed their sporting spirit by participating in various sports. 

Sanskriti School athletics meet

Two students of Sanskriti School, Kathua, Shiv Khajuria of Class VI and Vipul Yashovardhan of Class VIII participated in the district-level athletics meet, which was held at the District Sports Stadium, Kathua. Shiv got a gold medal in U-14 disc throw and Vipul got a gold medal in U-14 100-meter race and shot put. Further Vipul Yashovardhan has been selected for the national championship to be held at Vishakhapatnam between November 22 and 25. Mili R Sumbria, Principal, Jammu Sanskriti School, congratulated sports coach Pushap Thakur.

Cultural evening at SMVDU

A cultural evening was organised by the  Board of Cultural Activities (BCA), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, where Kaustabh M Kunj, a child prodigy, mesmerised with his magical voice. Kaustabh started the programme with classical singing. The musical night was organised on the sidelines of International Conference on Applied Biology (ICAB-2019), which was attended by more than 300 delegates from around the world, particularly USA, Europe and Australia. 

Debate at Shiksha Niketan

The inter-school debate competition was held at Shiksha Niketan, Jeevan Nagar. Seven schools, including host school and RM Public School participated in the competition. One-and-a-half minute had given to all participants to share their views. Pranjal Nargotra secured 1st position and Raghav Gandotra came second in the competition. A painting competition organised by the Indian Art Centre.
