PV Sindhu, the two-time bronze medallist at the World Championships, secured a straight-game win over Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying to reach the quarterfinals of the Denmark Super Series Premier here on Friday. World No. 13 Sindhu, who lost thrice to Ying in the past, recorded a dominating 21-12 21-15 win over the third seed in a match lasting 34 minutes. The Hyderabadi will next take on sixth seed Chinese Wang Yihan.

Lahiri, Chiragh tied for second at Macao Open golf  

World No. 39 Anirban Lahiri put himself in perfect position to defend his Venetian Macao Open title as he was one shot behind the leader at the halfway stage of the event after adding a four-under 67 to his first round 66 to get to nine-under 133. Also at nine-under was Chiragh Kumar (67-66) as four players were tied for second. The unheralded 23-year-old Hung Chien-yao of Chinese Taipei produced a scintillating seven-under-par 64 to snatch a one-shot halfway lead today with a two-day total of 10-under-par 132.
