Chandigarh: Team White comprising Trevor Shear, Ben William, Vimal Singh, Ashley White, Kamal Singh, Harish Phartiyal, Jagmohan, Ola and Narinder Negi won the three-day long St Xavier's Annual Staff Football Tournament here on Monday.

Team Yellow — Harinder Rana, Tarun Gusain, Zakir, Madan Tiwari, Nishant Bijlwan, P Naithani, Jitender, Vijay Mohan and Harmanjot — claimed the second position. In their last league match, Team White registered a 4-1 win over Team Red, while Team Yellow got the better of Team Blue. TNS

Judoka Savitri claims bronze

Chandigarh: Savitri has won the bronze medal in the recently concluded Commonwealth Judo Championship in Birmingham. Savitri competed in the 57kg weigh category. An All-India Inter-University silver medallist and school National gold medallist, Savitri had also represented the country in the Asian Junior Judo Championships last year. The budding judoka is currently pursuing her studies from Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana. TNS

Sukhdev shines for Mohali Utd 

Chandigarh: Mohali United XI registered a 14-run win over BLM XI in Champions Corporate Cricket League match here on Monday. Batting first, Mohali United made 157/8 in 20 overs. Sukhdev Singh scored 45 runs, while Harman added 42 runs to the total. Pankaj Singla, Lovepreet and Krishna Ahuja claimed two wickets each. In reply, BML XI were restricted to 143/8. TNS
