Loose, naked wires invite mishaps

Ludhiana:Loose and naked wires hanging along the wall of Lakkar Bridge near Bhadaur House, Ludhiana, pose a threat to commuters’ lives. A group of shopkeepers have demanded Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) must take immediate steps to avoid any mishap. Many times, commuters have had a narrow escape, as such loose wires are an open invitation to mishaps. A shopkeeper said vehicles sometimes touch the wires that caused sparking. The PSPCL should take necessary steps for the early redressal of the issue, he said. He said naked joints of the wires (connected with electricity meters) under Lakkar Bridge, near AC market, are also giving an invitation to mishap. Vehicles are also parked under the bridge. PSPCL Executive Engineer Bharat Bhushan said: “We will look into the matter and take requisite steps in this regard.”— TNS

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
