Dehradun, August 8
Bharat Ratna Prof CNR Rao today said the country, which was better in science, would rule the world in the days to come. He was addressing the inaugural session of the five-day Toppers’ Conclave being held in Dehradun at the initiative of Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul. He said science had immense importance in the growth of a nation.
Prof Rao called upon teachers to give a free hand to the students. “Teachers should become a role model and should not be limited to classrooms,” he pointed out.
Governor Dr KK Paul said universities must show the path towards social and economic development. He said the students must read good books and maintain positive thoughts. He said the progress of a nation depended on the quality of education. He hoped that the Toppers’ Conclave would inspire the students.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat stressed on research in state universities. He said scarce research was being done even though there were 31 universities in the state. — TNS
