New norms for submission of memoranda

The Haryana Government has decided to strengthen the existing system of forwarding of memoranda addressed to the Governor, Chief Minister and ministers by different groups of the civil society. Now, the officers receiving such a memorandum would directly send its copy to the addressee within 48 hours of its receipt.

An official spokesman said if the enclosures with the memorandum were too bulky to be photocopied and sent across to the addressee, at least a copy of the main memorandum without the enclosures would be sent to the addressee without fail.

He said it had been observed that often memoranda addressed to the Governor, the Chief Minister and the ministers by different groups of the civil society handed over to various district officers such as DCs, SPs, SDMs and tehsildars reached the addressee too late and sometimes not at all.

The spokesman said a written communication in this regard had been sent to all concerned.
