Woman’s body found at Sukhna

Chandigarh, August 17

The body of a 42-year-old woman was found at Sukhna Lake here this morning.

Visitors saw the body floating on the surface of the lake and informed the police.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Kusum, a resident of Behlana.

Sources said the victim had arguments with her husband over some issue on Friday evening after which she left home. Her kin tried to search for her, but to no avail.

The police said the victim reportedly committed suicide. However, no suicide note was recovered from her.

The woman used to run a shop in Behlana while her husband is a mechanic at the Sector 48 motor market.

The Sector 3 police have initiated inquest proceedings.
