Armed men attack two NRIs in Nawanshahr



Jalandhar, February 17

Some unidentified persons attacked two NRIs in Nawanshahr. The victims have been identified as Sharandeep Singh and Karamdeept. The assailants opened fire on them and a bullet hit Sharandeep’s chest. He is said to be out of danger. The NRIs were attacked on Sunday night.

The police said according to the victims, they had some issues with another group regarding organising a kabaddi tournament, which was to be held on Monday. SP Wazir Singh said five persons had attacked the victims. A case under Section 307 of the IPC has been registered. — TNS
