The department of lifelong Learning (DLL), University of Jammu (JU) has organised a daylong awareness lecture on 'Examination stress management' in collaboration with the counselling cell, Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ), at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bishnah under the Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). Dr Vivek Sharma, senior assistant professor, DLL, JU, who conceptualised and coordinated the programme, briefed the audience about the importance of organising awareness lecture in their area. He referred to the recent interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with young students entitled as 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi which was also aimed at discussing stress management for students and teachers. Professor Vinay Lata, department of psychology, Government Degree College, Reasi, in her introductory lecture, discussed stress and its manifestations at length, including its symptoms, physiology and psychology of stress. Romesh Kumar, head, counselling cell of the DSEJ was also present.

School of Economics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organised a mega fest of economics — ARTHA 2K20. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, conducted a day-long spoken tutorial based on hands on Information and communication technology (ICT) workshop on "Arduino", under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT,) MHRD. The main aim of the workshop was to impart training on Arduino hardware and software for modern applications to a large number of teachers and research scholars from electronics or allied engineering fields from various colleges and institutes. The participants of the workshop worked with Arduino hardware by listening to appropriate spoken tutorials. Prof Kannan Moudgalya, principal investigator, Teaching Learning Centre (ICT), Spoken Tutorial and FOSSEE projects, IIT, Bombay, was the teaching faculty, who promoted Arduino for technical and laboratory use.

Students bag medals

In the recently concluded J&K Union Territory Rope Skipping Championship held at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, students of Shangrilla Public School bagged medals. Total 11 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals were won by the students. The school team was trained by school coach Danish Sharma. Sureshta Khajuria, principal of the schoo,l congratulated all students and coach for the achievement.
