1 electrocuted at Damdama Sahib during Baisakhi fair

An accident occurred during the Baisakhi fair at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, on Sunday as one devotee lost his life and two others were injured after coming into contact with an electrified fan mounted on a pole.

Satpal Singh, one of the injured, said that the incident occurred when a fan installed on an iron pole in front of the Takht Sahib suddenly became electrified, creating panic among the devotees present at the fair.

All three victims were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Talwandi Sabo, where doctors, under the supervision of Dr Jagroop Singh, began treatment. One of the devotees, Bhinder Singh, a resident of Suratiah village in Sirsa district, Haryana, was declared dead by the attending medical staff.

The injured have been identified as Satpal Singh and Kulveer Singh, both residents of Jakhepal village in Sangrur district. They are currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.
