2 brothers killed as speeding car hits motorcycle in Mansa

Two brothers Gurdeep and Hardeep who died in a road accident in Mansa town on Saturday.

Two brothers were killed after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle at Tinkoni here on Saturday night. The deceased were identified as Gurdeep Singh (34) and his younger brother Hardeep Singh (30), residents of ward number 26 here.

The incident occurred when the brothers were crossing the road while heading to the market. Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that both were thrown several feet into the air. The car also struck the road divider and had allegedly hit another vehicle earlier.

Gurdeep is survived by his wife, two-year-old daughter and mother, while Hardeep was unmarried.

The police have taken the car driver, Sukhwinder Singh, into custody. He was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. His accomplice fled from the spot.

A CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced and further investigation is underway.
