35 stray cattle shifted to Khokhar Gaushala

MANSA: As protest against stray cattle menace is on at Mansa for the last one week, the district administration has started catching as many stray animals as possible.

As protest against stray cattle menace is on at Mansa for the last one week, the district administration has started catching as many stray animals as possible.

Divulging details in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that 35 stray animals were caught from near the district courts. Initially these animals were taken to an empty space of Red Cross Society on Mansa-Sirsa Road after which they were shifted to Khokhar Gaushala. Services of municipal council were taken for this task.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “The work of catching stray animals is tough task and it will take some time to remove them all.” She asked the public to cooperate till the time all stray animals were moved to the cattle pond.

She pointed out that all government departments would extend cooperation for the removal of stray animals. Various departments are contributing Rs 50,000 to Khokhar Gaushala.

She said the village panchayats were also being encouraged to open gaushalas in the villages to manage villages' stray cattle at their own level.
