550th Parkash purb celebrated

To mark the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev, a programme was organised at the grain market in Malout town on Wednesday.

A large number of people and students from various government schools participated in the event. A declamation contest was organised as a part of the programme. Besides, a large number of antique articles were put on display by Harmeet Singh of Duhewala village. A photo exhibition of various gurdwaras was also organised.

Deputy Speaker Ajaib Singh Bhatti, who is the MLA from Malout, thanked everyone for making the event a successful. He honoured those who got top positions in the contests. His wife Manjit Kaur and a number of Congressmen were also present on the occasion.
