Bathinda, November 19

Residents, along with some social activists, on Monday burnt the effigy of AAP MLA from Dakha HS Phoolka over his statement on the Army chief regarding the attack on Nirankari Bhawan at Amritsar.

Social Activist Sandeep Aggarwal, while leading the protest at Sadbhavna chowk in the city, said the attack in Amritsar had created fear in the minds of residents. But, speaking on the issue, Phoolka had blamed the Army chief for this attack, which was very wrong. They had protested against his statements, he stated.

Another activist, Sukhpal Sra, said by giving such statements, some politicians were trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the country. He demanded that a case be registered against Phoolka. The organisations had collectively lodged a complaint with Kotwali police station and had appealed to the police for action in this case, he added.

Sanjeev Sharma, Yogesh, Anil Gupta, Ashwani Shukla, Raju Baba, Somnath Mehta, Ramesh Mehta, Mohinder Bansal, Ajay Kumar, Anil Garg and others also took part in the protest.
