MALOUT: The Malout (City) police have booked five persons for allegedly driving cars with fake number plates in the town.

The Malout (City) police have booked five persons for allegedly driving cars with fake number plates in the town.

Earlier, the police had issued challans for such vehicles under the Motor Vehicle Act. Now a case has been registered under Sections 465, 471 and 473 of the IPC against Gurjeet Singh, Harpreet Singh and Pritpal Singh of Malout town, Sukhmandar Singh of Karamgarh and Lakhwinder Singh of Mahnikhera village.

The FIR stated that the vehicles had registration numbers of Delhi, but the accused had affixed fake plates displaying PB30AF. — TMS
