City lad is UK varsity student union president



Bathinda, February 23

Padamjeet Singh Mehta, a city youth, has created history by becoming the first Indian president of University of Westminster Student Union (UWSU), London, UK on Friday. Padamjeet (21) has also created another record by winning the post with highest margin ever. He had gone to England in 2017 to acquire a bachelor’s degree in BBA Marketing.

Elated over the achievement, Deputy Commissioner B Srinivasan and SSP Dr Nanak Singh congratulated his parents. On this achievement, Padamjeet said he was happy that he had been able to bring laurels to his mother land. He said he would work to the satisfaction of the student community. Padamjeet expressed his happiness by thanking god and receving his blessings after being declared victorious for the post. — TNS
