City police to come up with mobile app

The Bathinda police are all set to launch an emergency mobile application, which would have contact numbers of all emergency services, including police, ambulance, fire brigade, vehicle mechanic and various other services.

It would be press-a-button application, which will be connected with a control room. From the control room, the information would be further passed to the nearest PCR for any emergency.

Residents would also be able to lodge complaints and attach photographs or videos while sitting at home. A complaint lodged on the app would be addressed within 24 hours. Besides, the complainant’s name and identity would be kept a secret.

The mobile application project is the brainchild of Bathinda SSP Nanak Singh and it is expected to be launched within the next 10-15 days.

At first, the app would be connected to cloud and if it is successful, its dedicated control room would be established at the SSP office.

While talking to Bathinda Tribune, SSP Nanak Singh said “We are coming up with an emergency mobile application through which people will be able to contact police, ambulance, fire brigade, mechanic and other important services”.

Moreover, when a person lodges a complaint through this app, it would create a unique ID and would confirm the status of the complaint within 24 hours.

If the complaint is not resolved within the stipulated time, then slots of three days, seven days and one month have been made within which it would show the status of the probe and only after the complaint is resolved would the ID window close.

The SSP said the mobile application was in its final stage and would be launched within a few days.

Police officials said they hoped that residents would make optimum use of the application. It would also provide relief to the residents as they won’t have to visit the police stations to lodge their complaints or check on its status.
