City wrestler strikes gold in Khelo India Youth Games

City wrestler strikes gold in Khelo India  Youth Games

Bathinda, January 20

Bringing laurels to the city, a city based wrestling player has won gold medal in Khelo India Youth Games held recently at Guwahati in Assam. Sandeep Singh of DAV College has won the medal in 86 kg category.

Principal of the college Sanjeev Sharma congratulated Sandeep and his parents. Sharma appreciated the efforts put in and motivation provided by the head of the department of physical education, Prof Kuldeep Singh, and faculty members, Prof Nirmal and Prof Rajveer Kaur. Vice-principal Prof Parveen Kumar Garg congratulated Sandeep and applauded efforts of the department of physical education.

More than 6,500 athletes from across the country are participating in the games that are being organised from January 10 to January 22 in Guwahati.
