Class VIII student raped twice

BATHINDA: An Class VIII student was allegedly raped twice by her neighbour by blackmailing her.

An Class VIII student was allegedly raped twice by her neighbour by blackmailing her. The accused also threatened to kill her family if she revealed the incident to anybody.

The girl told about the incident to her family members a few days ago. Her mother lodged a complaint with the police.

In the complaint, the girl’s mother has stated that they lived in an LIG quarter in Model Town Phase 1 and she worked as labourer. She has two daughters and the elder one works at a private hospital while the other is Class VIII.

She stated that Mohammad Sabir, who lived in there neigbourhood in a riot affected colony used to harass her daughter when she would return home from school and she always protested against him.

The accused clicked photographs of her daughter and started blackmailing her, she said. Later, by threatening, he even called her daughter to his house and raped her twice.

The complainant has also alleged that apart from the accused, even his parents, brother and sister also knew about the incident.

The police have registered a case under Section 372 of the IPC and Section 6 of the Pocso Act-2012, against the accused at the Civil Lines police station.
