Employees’ union protests, wants demands fulfilled

BATHINDA: On a call given by the Punjab and UT Employees’ Sangharsh Committee, the Bathinda Sangharsh Committee, which includes Technical Service Union, Punjab Subordinate Services, Milk Plant Union and PWD Field Workshop Workers’ Union, on Monday held a meeting at the Children’s Park in the city.

On a call given by the Punjab and UT Employees’ Sangharsh Committee, the Bathinda Sangharsh Committee, which includes Technical Service Union, Punjab Subordinate Services, Milk Plant Union and PWD Field Workshop Workers’ Union, on Monday held a meeting at the Children’s Park in the city.

After the meeting, members of the committee took out a protest march up to the Circuit House against the state government and Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal for not fulfilling their long-pending demands. They also raised slogans against the both during the protest march. The protest march was headed by Narinder Pal Singh and Gurdeep Singh Brar.

They also give a memorandum for the Deputy Commissioner to Naib Tehsildar Lakvir Singh. In the memorandum, they had demanded that their outstanding DA instalments of last 22 months should be released at the earliest, the recommendations of the Pay Commission implemented, the old pension scheme restarted, contract employees regularised and employees of various department who had been fired should be taken back.
